Cafe Patisserie Lafayette is a home-style baking business specializing in tarts and quiche. It was established in March 2006 by Ayanna Parker and is located in Brooklyn, New York. Ayanna is committed to perfection and pours love and passion into everything she makes.
Ayanna spent many hours throughout her childhood at her mother’s side, observing, assisting, and of course, tasting whatever came out of the oven. She especially recalls a sweet and tangy dessert her mother used to make. Everyone called it a plum pie, made from the ripe-off-the-tree juicy fruits that were abundant in Tanzania where she grew up. It turns out that it was in fact a tart – open faced with a thin crust and a crumble on top.
After many years of baking experimentation, a degree in Architecture and her own family, Ayanna decided to learn the science behind baking. She completed a course in pastry arts at the New School and has continued to experiment, always adding an artistic flair to her work. She thoroughly enjoys the baking experience.
Ayanna caters events, provides product to cafes and is always happy to make a private party end on a sweet note. Cafe Patisserie Lafayette currently serves the New York metro area and plans to expand its menu with creative and deliciously memorable treats.
